Questions, Answered Straight
What is this diagnostic, exactly?
A free five-minute readiness check for each of the eight GSU Certification subjects. Every question demands calculation or inference — not trivia you can look up on the page — and every attempt ends with an honest placement: ready to attempt certification, close with targeted review, or not yet, with a full study path. No account, no cost, ever.
Why does GSU tell me plainly when I fail?
Because awareness is impossible without testing. American education has spent decades promoting learners forward whether they learned or not, and that gradeflation is a direct cause of adult functional illiteracy. GSU refuses to repeat the pattern. When you miss a bar here, you are told respectfully, and handed a specific map — which skills to rebuild, which GSU hub teaches them, and when to come back. A trophy for showing up would rob you of exactly the information you came for.
What do the three verdicts mean?
Seven or eight correct: you are ready — attempt the full 36-question certification, which issues a free, serial-numbered, publicly verifiable certificate. Five or six: you are close — review the exact questions you missed, study the linked skills, retake. Four or fewer: the honest answer is not yet — start with the subject's hub and free games, build the foundation, and return. Every verdict lists the precise skills you missed and where each is taught.
Is this the actual certification exam?
No, and it issues no certificate of any kind — GSU does not award credentials for warming up. The real certifications are full 36-question verified exams at the Certification hub. This page exists so that when you sit for the real thing, you sit down ready.
Can I retake a subject?
As many times as you like, forever, free. Your latest result per subject is saved only on your own device — GSU receives nothing and tracks no one. And GENO, our talking AI tutor, is on this page around the clock if you want any concept explained before your next attempt.
